Live Bar, May 5th recently, Clay’s father Michael Thompson talked about the series of Warriors and Lakers in an interview with the media.
Speaking of Clay’s match against the Lakers, Tang dad said: “I have wanted to see this since he was selected in 2011, but it took 12 years to realize it. I am very surprised, I thought this kind of thing should have happened many times by now.
“This is very exciting for me, because the Lakers were Clay’s favorite team when he was a child, and Kobe was his idol. For him, being able to play the Lakers is of great significance to him, because of his love for the Lakers and Kobe Bryant.
“In the past, as long as the school allowed me, I would bring him and my other two sons here to watch the Lakers game, so that they could appreciate the greatness of Kobe and O’Neal, it was their time. They had seen what winners and Champions were like, and they saw what it was like to play for the best team in basketball.
“Clay often trained with Kobe in high school to learn Kobe’s spirit, which is the best teaching method any young player can get, there is nothing better than training with Kobe on the court and getting advice from him.” Said Tom.
