Q: How to convert from the original league to WNBA?
Li Meng: everyone knows me very well in China. Coming to WNBA is my dream and the ultimate palace of basketball.
Q: What is the first impression of this place?
Li Meng: Everyone here is very kind to me and feels warm. More challenges are physical confrontation, and the world’s best players are here. Although it has been played in China for many years, it is also a Cainiao level and the first experience. But no matter what, I will do my best to help the team here achieve better results with the spirit of China’s women’s basketball.
Q: In recent years, many overseas players have come to WNBA, Japanese players and so on. What do you think of this matter?
Li Meng: I am very glad to have such international players come to this league and improve myself more. Share some things learned here with them and make progress.
Q: What goals and requirements does Cainiao have for himself during the season? Who is your best friend?
Li Meng: First of all, this is my first season. I hope I can play my best state, show my ability and do my best to help the team. Although I don’t get along with the people here for a long time, everyone gets along very well. I like me very much. They also teach them some Chinese every day and be teachers to each other.
Q: Have you communicated with other Chinese players?
Li Meng: they played with Xu Xu in the first match. They had several chats and were looking forward to meeting on the court. I hope both of us can play better. Now we are also doing this training camp to make ourselves better adjusted and welcome the following matches.
Q: In the International League, there are many young fans who like to watch your matches and regard you as an idol. Do you have anything to say to them, especially girls?
Li Meng: Everyone has dreams. There are many ups and downs on the road of dreams. I want to tell them not to be afraid and go forward bravely. Step by step with faith. Fulfill your dream. Don’t give up.
Q: some of your Chinese fans want to know if you and your idol James will have a chance to link up in the future?
Li Meng: I am a brokerage company with James. I think it should not be too far from this interaction. I will also try my best to be myself. Make myself better and closer to him.
Q: Before joining the team, the propaganda report used the “training camp contract”. Will you finish a season here?
Li Meng: the official propaganda here will report the training camp contract first, but it will not affect the following season.
Q: Can we find a place to stand in the team system?
Li Meng: I trained with the team for 2 weeks before this training camp. The first is to recover the physical condition, because after taking a rest in the middle of the WCBA championship in China, it is time difference in advance when you come here. Adaptive training, including training behind the training camp. I have also been observing the team selection for a long time. I will do some things that the coach needs me to do in this team and go all out to do things well.
Q: Have you ever communicated with the coach about your future role here? Will you set some small goals for yourself?
Li Meng: the time to come here is still very short. Today is also the first day of training camp, and some work will be carried out. In the early stage, we still focused on recovery and were familiar with some techniques and tactics, which were also consistent with my style of play. Therefore, the integration with the team is relatively smooth. As for the goal, no matter where you play, you must first ensure your health and to be the best of yourself. The coach will give everyone a plan and go all out to finish the task after getting the plan.
