Live Bar, June 13th recently, Wade talked about former teammate O’Neal in Club Shay Shay.
Host: Are you surprised that the Lakers traded O’Neal to the heat?
Wade: of course, because there was no social media before, I don’t know what happened in the Lakers. Until today, Shaq did not talk to me about the discord in the Lakers. He wanted to get another ring. It was no secret. He Said Kobe must not get the ring before him (hahaha). It’s not a secret. Everyone in the heat knows it.
In 2004, O’Neal was traded to the heat by the Lakers, and the “OK combination” was officially dissolved. The Heat sent out Odom, Karon Butler, Brian Grant and the first round of picks in 2006 (with which the Lakers selected Jordan Farmar) and got O’Neal from the Lakers.
