In an interview, Handi talked about the topic of local and non-mixed Filipino players playing NBA: “I think it’s a matter of time, it’s a part of the game, and the game has been evolving. We can reiterate the Philippine basketball culture. It is really only a matter of time. You can expect this to become a reality in the next few years.”
Kai Sotto, who is 2 meters 21, is expected to become the first Philippine native non-mixed-race player to play NBA. He has received many invitations from NBA Summer League.
