Live Bar, April 30-according to BasketNews reports, the head coach of France men’s basketball, fan Shang-Poderi Colla, said at the press conference after the World Cup draw that enbide was unlikely to represent France in the 2023 World Cup, but it does not rule out the possibility of playing in the 2024 Olympic Games.
“Joel (enbide) hasn’t made a decision yet. It’s hard to see him play this summer.” Poderi Colla said, “but that doesn’t mean he won’t play with us next year. He is going to get married this summer. This is the time for the team to prepare, not a good time.”
“Since he doesn’t play this summer, he will have more time to make a decision. It also takes time for the International Basketball Federation to implement measures.” Poderi Colla added.
Enbide, born in Cameroon, acquired French citizenship in last July, and a few months later he officially became an American citizen.
The men’s basketball World Cup in 2023 will start on August 25. France was assigned to Group H in the just-concluded draw, and they will play against Canada, Latvia and Lebanon in the World Cup.
