Live Bar, May 6th recently, Coach Kidd of the Lone Ranger talked about almost joining Headliners in the Spurs program.
Kidd said: “After we lost to Spurs (2003), Spurs called me and asked me if I was interested in joining them. I did say yes. I met with Bobo and Duncan in San Antonio. I said yes, but then I went back and things changed.
“Because we have good results in a very short time, I want to continue. Sometimes I wonder what will happen if I go there, Tony, Manu, Duncan, we may win several championships.”
In the offseason of 2003, Kidd entered the free agent market. After meeting with Spurs and basketable nets, Kidd finally chose to return to basketable nets.
