“If it goes well, this team will be the first domestic league team in 20 years that will be permanent in Hong Kong at home. Compared with directly applying to participate in the CBA league, joining NBL and waiting for the opportunity to expand the army may be a fairer and more appropriate approach.”

Liu Tie was born in ulanhaote, Inner Mongolia Hinggan League, in June 1971. He was selected into the national men’s basketball team during the player period. He once played for the Air Force team, Shandong team and Foshan team, and was selected into the CBA All-Star team five times. During the coaching period, he served as the head coach of Tianjin team and Nanjing Tongxi team.
